- Size = 12 - 15 μm
- Low N/C ratio (4:1)
- Eccentric nucleus
- No nucleoli
- Chromatin irregular and coarsely clumped
- Cytoplasm: Gray-blue as a result of hemoglobinization
NOTE: The blue color of the cytoplasm is becoming gray-blue as hemoglobin is produced.
